Happy New Year! Today, I want to talk about how to hit your goals in 2020.

Let’s talk about how to hit your goals. It’s not easy – it’s going to require some solid changes. These are definitely not quick-fix things, but these are things that have helped me hit my goals in the past and things that I’ll be implementing this year, so I hope you find it helpful.
I know it’s easy to talk about this subject at this time of the year, but just keep in mind you can have a fresh start at any time. It doesn’t need to be at the beginning of the year. If you fall off the wagon, don’t get too discouraged – that is part of hitting your goals. It’s normal - and guaranteed I’m going to fall off the wagon a whole bunch this year. All that’s important is that you keep going, you keep trying, and, honestly, you can take each morning as a fresh start. That’s what I do, and it’s actually proven to be very helpful. Let’s get into the tips on how to hit your goals.
#1 – Write It Down
My first one for you is to write it down. So many studies have proven that you’re more likely to hit your goals if you write them down, so take the time to actually write them down on a piece of paper – or, if you’re like me, have an Asana Board all about your goals and write them down there. Solidify it, get clear on what it is that you want to accomplish this year. That’s the first step to making this all happen.
#2 – See Them Daily
My next tip for how to hit your goals is to see them daily. You want to be constantly reminded of your goals. Honestly, I’m going to be writing down my goals on post-it notes and putting them up on my wall in my house. You can do this wherever you want, but just do it somewhere where you’re going to see it every single day.
#3 – Surround Yourself
My next tip for you is to surround yourself with people that are already doing what it is that you want to do. For example, if you want to create a six-figure online business, go to live events, get yourself in the room with people that are already doing that. This is going to start normalizing it for you, where all of a sudden you’re going to see, yes, it’s possible and I can do it - I just have to keep going.
#4 – Do Something Different
The next tip I have for you to hit your goals is to do something different. If you’ve been doing something for a while and you haven’t been getting the result that you want, it’s time for you to totally switch things up. How can you look at your problem differently? Maybe it’s a new strategy, maybe it’s a different way of approaching the strategy that you’re already trying – but I think the worst thing that we can do is just sit there and keep repeating the same thing, if it’s not getting us results. See how you can switch things up.
#5 – Be Do Have
The next thing is something I learned from my good friend, Megan Minns, and it’s a concept of Be Do Have. So often we think, okay, when we get the result we want, then we’ll change our behavior. But it’s actually reversed. You have to think about who you need to be in this moment, right now, in order to get the result that you want. Ever since I first learned this concept it has helped so much. I’m constantly reminding myself – Be Do Have. Think of the final result that you want and think about who you need to be, right now, in order to make that happen.
#6 – Focus On Your Daily Habits
My next tip for you to hit your goals is to focus on your daily habits. It’s not going to be those bursts of motivation or inspiration that really help us hit our goals. It’s actually going to be what you’re doing day in and day out. Rather than relying on those moments where you’re feeling super motivated and ready to conquer the world – instead just focus on consistency and what you can do every day to get you closer to those big goals.
#7 – Be Okay With It Not Being Easy
Finally, my last tip for you is to be okay with it not being easy. It’s actually very normal for this to not be easy. Social media can paint this picture that it all comes to people super easily, but there’s so much effort that is happening behind the scenes, so just embrace that. Know that if you put in all your energy and effort right now, that you can make it happen. It doesn’t always have to be this intense, it doesn’t have to be like this forever, but what you’re doing is setting the foundation for your future self.
So, with that, I’m wishing you all the best to hit your goals in 2020. I, one hundred percent, honestly believe that you can make it happen, so go after it. I’d love to hear from you – what are your biggest goals for 2020? Tell me in the comments below so that I can cheer you on.
