How to Be Consistent on Instagram Stories

In today’s video, I want to give you a few tips for being more consistent on Instagram Stories. I got a compliment the other day that I was always showing up on Stories, so I wanted to give you all my best tricks to making sure that that happens.

If you’re new here, hi, I’m Louise of Louisehenry.com. Here on this channel, I talk all about building an online business, and Instagram is a fantastic way to grow your brand, so that’s what we’re going to talk about today.

Capture The Little Moments

The very first thing we need to do is re-frame the way we think about Instagram Stories. Instagram Stories are supposed to be a behind-the-scenes look at your life and your company, and help you build a deeper relationship with your audience. It does not need to be super polished.

You can start by looking at the little moments in your day and share those. You might think that no-one wants to see your morning coffee, but trust me, I do - and I’m sure that there are many out there like me as well. When I’m following someone, I want to connect with them. I don’t need it to just be full value at me all the time. Those little moments throughout your day, those are shareable, and people are actually going to love to see those. Start with that, and start capturing those little moments that make you happy throughout your day. Of course, you can balance it out with advice and value, but it’s going to make your account a lot more well-rounded and interesting to follow.

Edit Your Shots

Continuing on with taking the pressure off, so often, if it’s not a beautiful aesthetic shot, then I don’t want to share it - but there’s so much more that we can do after-the-fact. Take the shot and then decorate – make use of all of the tools that are right there within the Instagram Story Editor. Add a border, add some GIF’s, add a filter – there are ways that you can make your plain Instagram Story much more engaging and fun to look at. As you are in the moment taking those Instagram Stories, just know that there’s so much more that you can do once you bring it into the Editor – don’t worry so much, in the moment.

Pre-Record Value Content

My next piece of advice for you is to pre-record that value content. If you are speaking on camera giving advice, you can actually film those ahead of time and do this in batches, and then you can schedule this to go out throughout the month. When I first started on Instagram Stories, I thought that, if it wasn’t exactly in that moment, then I couldn’t post it, but that’s not the case. When you’re feeling really great and inspired, I would recommend batching that content and then you can spread it out throughout the month.

Schedule Your Stories

The next thing that you will want to do for this is schedule it out. You can use the tool, Plann, to not only plan out your Instagram feed, but you can also use it to plan Instagram Stories. It’s incredibly easy to use, so I recommend checking it out, and that is going to make this process a lot easier.

Those are my best tips for getting more consistent on Instagram Stories. Take the pressure off, know that those little moments are valuable, pre-record any value-based content, and schedule your Instagram Stories, not just your main feed posts.

I hope that this helps you be more consistent on Instagram Stories. If you liked this video, let me know by giving it a thumbs up. Follow me on Instagram – I’m @louisehenry. Subscribe to this channel for more advice like this, and I’ll see you soon with another video.
